Grammar

English grammar games

Tenses, verb forms, articles, comparing words, passive voice and if-clauses. Each of these games gives students a sentence to complete, at the level of their own grade, and shows the right answer after a mistake.

What grammar do they cover?

Younger students start with am, is and are, a and an, plurals and the present simple. Grades 3 to 5 add the past simple, the present continuous, don’t and doesn’t, and questions.

Grades 6 to 9 practise the past continuous, the future with will, the present perfect, comparing words and first conditionals. O/L and A/L students get passive voice, past perfect, second conditionals, gerunds and more.

Never the same sentences

Each game has its own topic, like cricket, space, the beach or a sweet shop, and makes new sentences from it. There are thousands of possible sentences, so students cannot just memorise the answers.
