Tenses

English tense games

Tenses are the part of English that Sri Lankan students ask about most. These games let them use each tense again and again in real sentences, in a way they enjoy.

From “I play” to “had played”

Students meet the present simple first, then the past, the continuous tenses and the future, and finally the perfect tenses, as they move up through the grades. The name of the tense is shown above every question, so they learn what it is called too.

Learn the rule first

Games are for practice. For the rule itself, English Genius has short lessons on every tense, with a chalkboard trick and notes to copy. See the tense lessons.
