These terms apply to the English Genius website (englishgenius.lk) and the English Genius learning app (together, “the service”). By paying for or using the service you agree to them.
1. The service
English Genius is an online English learning service for students in Sri Lanka from Grade 6 to the G.C.E. O/L: lessons, learning games, speaking practice, exam practice papers, a learning companion (the “hero”) and progress reports. It is a digital service; nothing is posted to you.
2. Accounts
Accounts are created only by English Genius or by a school/teacher we have approved. There is no public sign-up. A child’s account is created at the request of a parent, guardian or school, who agrees to these terms for the child. Each login is for one student; please do not share it. We may switch off an account that is misused.
3. Prices and payment
Prices are shown in Sri Lankan rupees on englishgenius.lk and include all charges we make. Current plans: Grade plan Rs. 750 a month, O/L plan Rs. 990 a month, Family plan Rs. 1,750 a month, with 3-month and yearly options, and school plans from Rs. 300 per student a month. Plans are paid in advance. You pay by bank transfer or deposit to the English Genius bank account shown on englishgenius.lk, then send us the receipt. We never ask for card numbers or passwords; never send them to anyone who says they are from English Genius.
Trial week: Rs. 100 for 7 days of full access. If you continue, the Rs. 100 is taken off your first month.
Renewal: plans do not renew automatically. Near the end of a plan we remind you, and the account continues only when the next payment is made.
4. Delivery of the service
After we receive payment, we create or activate the student’s account, usually within a few hours and always within 24 hours, and send the login details or a student ID card by WhatsApp or email. The plan period starts on the day the account is activated.
5. Refunds
Refunds follow our Refund Policy: a full refund if you ask within 7 days of paying for a plan.
6. Fair use
Students must not try to break, copy or overload the service, upload harmful content, or use the hero chat to ask for or share personal details. The hero chat is an automatic AI helper made for practising English; it can make mistakes and is not a teacher, doctor or counsellor. Teachers and parents can switch it off.
7. Our content
All lessons, notes, games, pictures and characters belong to English Genius. Students may copy lesson notes into their own exercise books; copying or sharing the content in any other way is not allowed.
8. Changes and availability
We work to keep the service running every day, but it may sometimes be unavailable for maintenance or because of internet problems. We may improve or change features. We will tell you at least 14 days before any price change; it never affects a period you have already paid for.
9. Liability
The service helps students learn; it does not guarantee exam results. As far as the law allows, our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid in the 3 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Consumer Affairs Authority Act of Sri Lanka.
10. Ending the service
You can stop at any time by not renewing. We may end an account that breaks these terms; if we end it without such a reason, we refund the unused part of the plan.
11. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka, and the courts of Sri Lanka decide any dispute.
